Not that we didn't see this coming, but no more TT. Dollywood's Deja-Vu of a ride has officially been removed after sitting lifeless for the 2011 season, and going through countless mant. problems the seasons before.

As for what will take it's place...I vote for a drop tower.

While out at the park today, I stopped by the former site of Timber Tower to pay my respects to this sadly lost attractio...oh who am I kidding? Nobody is gonna miss this thing.

All seemed quiet at the now Timber-Towerless location:


The platform where the ride itself once stood (and sometimes worked), has been transformed into a quiet little picnic area:


Though I don't see the park spending a hefty sum anytime soon after opening the nation's first wing-coaster, I do see one year this becoming some sort of flat, or (wishful thinking) an Acrophobia-style of drop tower. What do you think?


But as for now, a nice picnic area overlooking Thunderhead is just fine, and certainly better than an empty space.

I see that happening quickly. With the master plan still in effect, they'll be an attraction there soon. After all, who needs a que to a picnic area? I would bet on a tower of some sort, maybe even a wind or sky rider instead of a drop tower.
